Managing Inventory

The SIMI application interfaces with two indirect inventory management systems at Intel®.

The Worldwide Indirect Inventory Next Generation System application is used by the Factory, Stockroom, and Buyers to manage the inventory in the Stockroom. It allows users to order items, manage inventory, and return items to the stockroom.

The Worldwide Information Systems Accelerated Receiving Distribution application is used by the receiving organization to receive and distribute items from suppliers. It is also used by Buyers and Receivers to disposition variants and create exception reports.

Supplier managed inventory is received into Intel® using the following process:

SIMI also provides a link to four performance reports provided by Indirect Materials Data Warehouse using data from the Worldwide Indirect Inventory Next Generation System.

Non Returned Returnables - provides details about all items (repairable and contract) that have not yet been returned by the factory user.
Reconciliation - provides consumption history and contract (warranty) information to determine what is owed to a supplier for a specified date range.
Bill of Materials - provides details about inventory status, consumption, and item details. Also identifies dead inventory line items.
Zero Bin Replenishment Performance - provides performance data about replenishment of zero bin inventory.
